  • Workshop Wednesdays

    June, 01, 2018

We're delighted to be launching a series of fun evening workshops, here in the shop. I've teamed up with some fabulously talented experts from Jolly Blossom Paper Design specialists as well as House of Colour to bring you a selection of sessions designed to be fun, creative and interactive! Our sessions include all materials as well as complimentary prosecco, tea and cake. You'll also benefit from 10% discount on all purchases made in the shop at each Wednesday event.

We're kick starting on Weds 20 June with a Paper Peonies Workshop where our lovely lady from Jolly Blossom will help us create the most realistic peonies. We're lucky enough to have bagged a second date on 18 July for her to return and this time, create perfect paper roses.

Still on the flower theme, on 4 July, we're trying our hand at making gorgeous fabric flowers from a wide range of which we'll use to embellish a wrattan wreath to take home.

But it's not all flowers! On 27 June, Sian Davies from House of Colour, Gloucestershire will explain the colour analysis process and talk us through personal style, understanding your body shape and expressing your personality through the language of clothes.

And something, a little different, we have a pop up shop in the shop with Imadjin Jewellery all day Saturday 30 June. The lovely Myriam will bring along her stunning collection of handmade jewellery.

So, as you can see, it's all going on! After the Summer holidays we'll be launching a whole new series of workshops, focusing on Autumnal and Christmas themes so make sure you watch this space!

Please do get in touch if you'd like any more information or want to buy tickets for the events - I'm here at lisa@lovinghome.co.uk

  • Spring is on its way!

    March, 23, 2017

Despite still wearing my padded coat and scarf, Spring seems to be most definitely on its way! I love my daily drive to Wotton under Edge where the hedgerows and verges are scattered with daffs, crocuses and tulips.

I've been in the shop 5 months now and feelt that I'm finding my feet at last. I've had a play with the window for the new season and given it a Spring clean with an animal theme; hares, bunnies and a giant woolly sheep are certainly getting lots of attention.

Inside the shop, I'm delighted to be working with some really talented and local crafts people; ceramic bunting and hanging hearts from Broadlands Pottery, decorated stone tiles from Encore and contemporary jewellery from Imadjin.

But it's not all, about the shop, I've been busy adding lots of lovely new goodies to the website and it's there where I keep customers updated as to which events I'm going to be attending. It's also there where you can sign up to receive the e-newsletter which I send out about once a month. It's worth adding your name as I always offer a special discount and I absolutely promise not to bombard you with unwanted mail!

Right, I better attend to my very dirty dog who's had a fine time in the woods and grab a cuppa. Have a wonderful Mothering Sunday and don't forget to spoil the ones you love. Bye for now ...

  • Happy New Year - Welcome to my first blog!

    January, 07, 2017

Well, here I am, having a go at my first ever blog! New Year seems like a good time to make a start and anyway, it's a great place to plot thoughts, give you updates and share some nonsense.

As my lovely, loyal customers will already know, I opened my first shop in Wotton-under-Edge, along the Cotswold Way, Glos, just 3 months ago and since then, there has been no stopping! The locals are lovely and I am just about starting to recognise who's who and what they like and don't like to buy.

Charlie, our family pet, the 4 year old border collie has officially become the shop dog and can normally be found in his favourite spot, blocking the door. He's a friendly pooch but a little bouncy in the morning before his walk with a local dog walker. If you pop in later in the afternoon, you'll get a much more chilled canine welcome and will be most likely obliged to tickle the tummy - Charlie's not mine!!

As for the shop itself, well, the sale is now on! There's lots of Christmas goodies to be bagged for another week or so and then we'll be onto Spring displays, just the mention of which, will put a spring in my step.

I'm off to a few trade shows over the next few weeks, so come back here soon and I might even give you a sneeky peek of what's coming to the shop soon .........
